The Sims 4 Infants Update: Release Date, Gameplay, And More
With the announcement of Project Rene, The Sims 4 team has also announced a new life stage for sims due to bridge the space between the baby and toddler stages.
This new life stage coming to The Sims 4 is called 'infants' and with the footage released so far, they are shown to expand on the baby stage by implementing small children who can crawl and interact with their parents in new animations.

As per the footage released during the 2022 Sims Summit, the new infant sims life stage will feature slightly older babies that have more interactions with sims and can leave their bassinets to crawl around and explore the world more as they age into toddlers.
This is great news for many Sims fans who feel as though the baby phase is lacklustre. Currently, babies are technically classed as an 'object' in the game which has limited interactions and mostly involves your sims standing around the bassinet performing interactions in the same space.
From the limited footage released, Sims players are eager to see the release of the infant life stage. This new life stage is due to be released on March 14.
