Much like the normal Rocket League, the aim of the game is to score as many goals with your car as possible, and while the dimensions and mechanics differ, players still want to be victorious and hit your opponent with a "What A Save!".

With that in mind, Epic Games were quick to roll out a Rocket League Sideswipe rank mode, with a progression ladder that allows players to figure out how good they are and play in a much more exhilarating environment. The Rocket League Sideswipe ranks are a way of staying entertained in the game by trying to progress and receive rewards for your efforts along the way.

Rocket League Sideswipe Ranks Explained

Ranked modes aren't unfamiliar to Rocket League. In fact, less than 20% of players on console and PC are not ranked, with 80% of players playing Rocket League ranks no matter how good they are. However, the system for the Rocket League Sideswipe ranks isn't a perfect copy-and-paste job, and there are a few differences you may need to bear in mind when playing. 

Starting with Bronze, there are a total of seven rank categories, each of which is split into five "divisions" - two more per rank than console. Similarly to how the ranks work on console and PC, the higher the division you are in, the better (for example, Platinum I is the bottom rank in Platinum, and getting promoted from Platinum V will see you progress to Diamond).

The world of Soccar has come quite a way since Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars was released. However, the main game tipped its cap to the original title by naming the elite rank as "Supersonic Legend", sitting above Grand Champion.

This isn't the case for the Rocket League Sideswipe ranks though, and the maximum rank that anyone can achieve is Grand Champion V. It's not yet clear as to whether Supersonic Legend will be added to Rocket League Sideswipe in the future, but for now, GC V is your peak.
