There are several ways to earn champions, skins or other cosmetics in League of Legends. Whether it’s Blue Essence or Orange Essence, or even the good ol’ fashion Riot Points, there are several ways for players to buy what they need. But what if we told you there was another way to get Champions or Skins?

By crafting Champion and Skin Shards, players can make their very own Champions or Skins at a reduced cost. There won’t be a need for players to purchase Riot Points or have to dish out tons of Blue or Orange Essence. All they need is a handful of shards and an idea.

Here’s how to use Champion Shards and Skin Shards in League of Legends.

As stated previously, players can use Champion and Skin Shards to create what they want for themselves. In this case, players can craft a Champion or a Skin.

The way this is done is simple. You just take any three random Champion or Skin Shards in your possession and mix them up together to create a new and permanent (emphasis on the permanent) Champion or Skin for yourself.

All you have to do is visit the Hextech Crafting section in your League of Legends client, click on a Champion or Skin Shard, and then click on “Re-roll into random permanent Champion (or Skin).”

From there, you’ll be prompted with two little boxes to the right of the already-selected shard. Pick the shard you’d like to have re-rolled and that’s it! Once you’ve combined the three shards the wheel will spin and a new and permanent champion or skin will come out for you to keep.

That’s it! You can craft a random Champion or Skin with plenty of shards in hand. It’s worth noting though, we recommend just focusing on crafting skins as Champions can be bought at any time with Blue Essence.
