God Of War Best New Game Plus Armor

God of War presents you with a vast variety of armor pieces to equip throughout the game, bolstering Kratos' Strength, Defence, Rune, and Vitality stats. We've already touched on the best God of War armor in the base game, but after you complete your first playthrough and unlock New Game Plus, some even better armor options unlock. In God of War New Game Plus, players get to keep a variety of their inventory and skills in exchange for the higher scales of difficulty in gameplay. What's more, New Game Plus allows the opportunity to unlock exclusive sets of armor. It just so happens one of these sets is the best God of War armor. 

The best God of War armor is the armor of Zeus, Kratos' father. Each piece starts at Level 8 with a combined 100 each in Strength, Defence, and Runic altogether. However, it's also the armor's perk that makes this the best armor in God of War. With each piece of the Zeus armor comes a bonus amount of damage to Kratos' standard attacks, becoming even more of a powerhouse than usual when wearing the full set. On the other hand, this does come with a caveat - the armor also increases the amount of damage enemies can deal to Kratos himself. 

Depending on your playstyle, you may want to switch to the base game's God of War best armor, more so if you're regularly taking hits. Nevertheless, these stats and the stacked perk truly make the Zeus armor the best armor in God of War.

How To Unlock Zeus Armor In God Of War

The best armor in God of War can only be unlocked by defeating a particular three of the Valkyries - the game's optional bosses - whilst playing in New Game Plus. Each of these Valkyries will earn you one piece of Zeus' armor upon defeat respectively: Cuirass of Zeus by beating Sigrun, Gauntlets of Zeus by beating Gondul, and War Belt of Zeus by beating Hildr. To fully upgrade the Zeus armor, you'll need lots of Hacksilver and Skap Slag, the latter being the exclusive currency you earn whilst playing New Game Plus.
