FIFA 22 Division Rivals is where Ultimate Team and FIFA 22 Weekend League grafters can grind through the ranks to the top of the tree whilst racking up a mountain of rewards that can catapult your team to glory. In FIFA 22, Division Rivals is seeing a serious overhaul from previous games, which means seasons, ranks, rewards, and more will be changed. Some new features to Ultimate Team, such as the FIFA 22 FUT Heroes, have been revealed already, but for Division Rivals? You've come to the right place. We've outlined exactly how the FIFA 22 Division Rivals system works right here, so you can make the most of the most popular mode in the game.

FIFA 22 Division Rivals: Stages, ranks, and checkpoints

The typical ten-divisional system has been scrapped in FIFA 22 Division Rivals. Previously, players would be granted an ELO ranking, based upon seeding matches. Here, they would progress with points given for each win, or be relegated through losses, with no limit on how far they can fall or how high they can go.

Now, the revamped system will emulate many other title's ranking systems, combined with a seasonal reset. The FIFA 22 Division Rivals system will be split into ranks and stages. Each division will be divided into ranks, with five in total. Subjected with roman numerals, layers will have to advance from Stage V to Stage I by winning games. Players on a win streak will progress faster, whilst a loss can set you back a stage.

FIFA 22 Division Rivals will also implement a 'checkpoint' feature which will benefit players who are having an 'off day'. Everyone has them. The checkpoint feature will act as a no-returns benchmark that will prevent you from falling below this stage with consecutive losses. This will also impact those days where your wifi isn't hitting right, or if you can only play at that time of the day where everyone has prime Messi and In-Form Ramos.

The FIFA 22 Division Rivals will be split into Seasons too, which will be reset on a global timescale. Players will be able to grind through the stages to progress into higher divisions, rewarding the most devoted players the most. Then, when the season comes to an end, you will be pushed back to a certain point.

As far as the early information indicates, the reset will be "soft", which means that upon a new season, not everyone will be pushed back to the bottom division, as there will be a benchmark in which certain categories of players will be marooned to.

FIFA 22 Division Rivals: Elite division

The "Elite Division" in FIFA 22 Division Rivals will be a league filled with the most skilled players in the game, which supersedes Division 1.

In the Elite Division, ranks and stages are forgotten, and players' abilities will be reflected by skill points on a global leaderboard. The top of the tree will be able to qualify for esports events, such as the FIFA Global Series.

FIFA 22 Division Rivals: Rewards

Just as in previous instalments, your weekly wins will also see you push through the global average leaderboards, allowing for better rewards.

However, the major change will be the introduction of Seasonal Rewards, which will be made up of a hefty coin influx and a range of top-tier packs that will be reflected by your division rank at the end of the season.

As per usual, FUT Champs qualification points will be available in every win, although not as many are needed this year around.

FIFA 22 Division Rivals will be activated on September 27, for those who have pre-ordered one of the FIFA 22 editions, ready for the full launch on October 1.
