How To Buy A House In FFXIV

Want to buy a house in FFXIV? You're not the only one. Unfortunately, it's not an easy task to accomplish, as you'll need to be well into the Final Fantasy XIV late game before you can even consider the possibility of owning a house. It's also one of the greatest things you can do in your time with FFXIV though. Here's what you need to know on how to buy a house in FFXIV.

How To Buy A House In Final Fantasy XIV

In order to buy a personal house in Final Fantasy XIV, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Have a class that is at least level 50
2. Reached Second Lieutenant in your Grand Company
3. Not currently own any plot of land/house
4. Unlocked the housing district that you’d like to purchase the house in via quest

From there you’ll want to head to whatever housing district you’d like. There are currently 5 housing districts available: Mist, Lavender Beds, The Goblet, Shirogane and The Empyreum. Each of the districts has its own unique style and view so make sure to choose the one that you like the best.

Once at the housing district you’ll need to choose a certain ward, which are kind of like servers for housing and are carbon copies of one another. It doesn’t matter which ward you choose, so pick a number you like or one with some population and head there.

Next up you’ll need to find a plot of land that you’ll want to purchase so you can begin to build your house. Plots come in 3 different sizes and will cost a varying amount based on their location, as well as how big the plot is. Small houses go for 3 - 3.75 million Gil, medium for 16 - 20 million Gil and large for 40 - 50 million Gil. 

Found the perfect plot for you? Great! Now you’ll have to enter into the lotto system in order to see if you get the house or not. The housing lottery operates on a 9-day cycle, the first 5 days are for entering the lotto, and the last 4 are used so that the winner can claim and purchase the plot of land. In order to enter the lottery, you will need to spend the Gil required to purchase the land, but if you don’t win you’ll receive a 100% refund. 

If you did win, congratulations you now own a plot of land in Final Fantasy XIV. You’ll have to spend a small amount of Gil to build the house and choose the style, and then you’re finished!

Final Fantasy XIV Free Company Housing

Another way in which you can own a house/property in Final Fantasy XIV is through a private chamber in a free company house. Free Company houses can be bought similarly to personal housing. Within the free company house, free company members can purchase a private chamber for 300k Gil.
