The beta is set to be invitation only, but you will need to have signed up before the deadline of October 11, 2022, meaning it's now too late to gain access for most people. If you did sign up, you also should have already received your invite by email, though you can't action it yet.
While there's still no official news on when the Diablo 4 beta will release, the game's general manager, Rod Fergusson, has provided some hints. In a Twitter exchange where a user asked him about news on the beta, Fergusson responded, "soon! If only we were presenting at some sort of gaming moment this month where one might announce such a thing…"
There's not much subtly here, and Fergusson is clearly saying the beta release date will be revealed sometime in February. The IGN Fan Fest 2023 is scheduled to take place on February 17 and 18, and with Diablo 4 confirmed to have a presence there, it seems likely that this is when we'll get confirmation.
As for what the release date will be, we can still only guess. March seems like a good bet considering the proximity to launch, giving Blizzard enough to time to collect feedback and action any changes they want to make.
The beta is set to focus on the end-game portion of Diablo 4's content, according to a blog post on the Blizzard website. Fergusson also revealed the beta's focus would ensure they could make the gameplay following the campaign as tight as possible, giving players a reason to stick around afterwards.
