The new Destiny 2 Void 3.0 update is one of the many changes that have made their way into the game thanks to The Witch Queen expansion. Destiny 2 has always allowed you to customise your super abilities, which come in the form of Stasis, Arc, Solar, and Void, but the Void 3.0 system has made some changes to how you can customise the latter. But what are the actual changes? And how does it impact the way we customise our Void abilities? Here is everything you need to know about the new Destiny 2 Void 3.0 update.

  • Void 3.0 isn't the only major change to how you can customise your experience. Head on over to our guide on the new Destiny 2 weapons crafting system.

Destiny 2 Void 3.0 is basically a change to how you customise your void abilities. For years, Solar, Arc, and Void abilities have been customised through a branching system, which allows you to mix and match a few abilities. However, this recent update has brought the Void skill tree to the same level as the Stasis subclass - which was introduced during the Beyond Light expansion.

The new Void 3.0 system essentially makes it clearer which abilities you are selecting, while allowing you to mix and match abilities and boosts through elements called Aspects and Fragments, giving players more freedom.

  • More Void abilities leads to more damage types. Figure out how to apply Destiny 2 Void suppression with the help from a recent guide of ours.

Those abilities and boosts are brought to you through Aspects and Fragments, which acts as the main change in Destiny 2 Void 3.0. Aspects are unique attributes to your Super including the Devour ability and overcharging grenades. However, in the new system these also come with two Fragment slots, with a total of four applicable to any build. These are more like modifications than anything else that will fine-tune your build. These include boosts like final melee blows granting grenade energy or mobility boost after suppressing targets.

If you are newer to Destiny, for one, you check out all the reasons now is the time to jump into Destiny 2, but secondly, you may need to unlock some of these abilities.

For any returning Destiny players, the likelihood is that you've unlocked most, if not all of the abilities that are on offer for the Void subclass. However, if you do have some left to unlock for the Destiny 2 Void 3.0 you'll need to head to The Tower and meet Ikora Rey. When interacting with her you'll see the option to "Grow Your Light". Here you can work through each segment of your Void abilities from Melee to Grenade. You should be able to purchase the majority of these abilities with Glimmer, which will expand your options for Void builds, however some will require specific quests to unlock them like the "Learning the Light" quest.

That's all you need to know about the new and improved Destiny 2 Void 3.0. Why not partner your new Void build with the perfect new weapons? Head over to our guide on how to unlock the Destiny 2 Glaive
