Destiny 2 Revision Zero is a new exotic weapon added to the game during Season of the Seraph. Destiny 2 is continuously expanding and adding new things, and this weapon is a big part of the progression of this season. Revision Zero has some unusual traits, and does things that no weapon has done before. Here is everything you need to know about Destiny 2 Revision Zero.

Destiny 2 Revision Zero: What Does It Do

Starting with the basics, Revision Zero is an exotic pulse rifle. It is a craftable weapon, meaning it can be upgraded and new perks can be added to it, much like the Destiny 2 Osteo Striga. The unique intrinsic perk of Revision Zero is called Hunter's Trace, but don't worry, this weapon is not locked to only the Hunters.

The Hunter's Trace perk reads "This weapon fires special shield-piercing ammunition. Precision hits grant targeting data. Press L2/LT/right mouse to swap to the alternate scope, loading high-damage rounds based on the amount of targeting data. Strong against Barrier Champions."

Essentially, the weapon pierces shields, and with targeting data gained from precision hits, you can use a longer-range scope and fire more powerful shots. Repeatedly landing headshots builds up the targeting data meter, which is consumed when you hold the reload button to load the more powerful shots. How many shots you get depends on how much you managed to build up the meter, so you can load up to four powerful shots. This also activates the weapon's long-range scope, turning it into something closer to a sniper rifle.

To acquire the Revision Zero, players need to complete the Hidden Shape quest. This quest involves completing the Destiny 2 Operation Seraph's Shield mission, which awards the player with the weapon. The quest continues beyond that, and involves going to Mars to learn to craft the weapon.

There will be more quests over the following weeks. These will unlock the weapons catalysts, yes, as in plural. Revision Zero is the first weapon to have more than one catalyst, and it will have four of them. This seems to be part of the weapon's theme of crafting and customisation.

That is everything we currently know about Destiny 2 Revision Zero. For more on the game, check out our Destiny 2 The Manticore exotic SMG guide.
