The Destiny 2 Duty Bound auto rifle has returned! Many Destiny 2 weapons have come and gone due to content being added and removed from the game, and the Duty Bound left the game when the Savathun's Song strike was removed. Now with the launch of the Witch Queen and Season 16, the weapon has returned as a Nightfall reward. Here is everything you need to know about the Destiny 2 Duty Bound auto rifle.

The Destiny 2 Duty Bound is a legendary kinetic auto rifle that players adored when it was first introduced with the game's first DLC, Curse of Osiris back in 2017. The gun was known for its high fire rate and ridiculous perks, becoming an instant favourite in PvE and PvP as a result.

The weapon was then sunset back in 2020 and has remained out of the game since.

Before the launch of Witch Queen, Bungie teased the return of the Duty Bound with the above image. Players immediately recognised the distinctive weapon with its large bayonet. Now the weapon is here and players can attain it by completing Nightfall strikes. It is a random drop, but higher difficulty Nightfalls increase the odds of getting the weapon. So, if you want it, try playing Nightfalls on the highest difficulty you can manage. With Grandmaster Nightfalls comes the possibility of an adept version of the weapon, which will be interesting to see.

As it is, this weapon is already extremely desirable. It has plenty of reload perks, as well as having Vorpal, Rampage, Triple Tap, Frenzy and other pretty solid perks in its potential pool. Anyone looking for a great kinetic auto rifle to bring into most activities should look no further than the Destiny 2 Duty Bound.

That is everything there is to know on the Duty Bound as it is in Destiny 2 right now.
