You might be wondering if Atomic Heart is playable on Steam Deck before you pick it up and play it on the go. While the Steam Deck can in impressive fashion play just about anything, there is still some caution to be had around new releases like Atomic Heart. So, check out the rest of this guide down below to see what the Atomic Heart Steam Deck performance is like.

As of this current moment in time we don't have any official Steam Deck performance information, but we can take a good guess based on the recommended components for the game. This is best done when compared to other performance-intensive games on the Steam Deck, as it can give you a good picture of what to expect.

Strangely enough, Atomic Heart has near identical recommended requirements to the recent release of Returnal on Steam, boasting the same RTX 2070 Super, albeit with a slightly less powerful Ryzen 5 2600X processor.

This isn't exactly the best of news considering the woeful performance of Returnal on the Steam Deck, but it is perhaps the specs on the low end that might do us a favour.

As opposed to the 1060 that Returnal requires as a minimum, Atomic Heart only needs a GTX 960 and Ryzen 3 1200 for GPU and CPU respectively. This performance profile at the lower end will match the Steam Deck far more, giving us hope that Atomic Heart won't be too demanding on Valve's portable platform.

We will update this guide when we have more concrete information, but as a prediction we expect Atomic Heart to be playable on Steam Deck at 720p 30fps on low settings at the very least. 30fps is of course not ideal for a first-person shooter, but hopefully, the lower graphical options will bump it up to at least 40fps and even towards 60 if we're lucky.

At this current time, Atomic Heart is not Steam Deck Verified, but that is because it has not received official certification yet. If all goes well, it should get the green light, but there could be some compatibility issues like text size or bugs that we might have to wait for a fix in the future.

So, that wraps up this guide on the Atomic Heart Steam Deck performance. Make sure to check this out if you want to see if Atomic Heart has a 6 hour cutscene.
