There's no doubt that Super Smash Bros has not only changed the world of fighting games but gaming full stop. The groundbreaking innovations that the game brought to the table, in way of mechanics and the endlessness of fighter rosters, has changed gaming forever and has naturally brought about a lot of copycats. It makes sense, really.

Some have succeeded, especially fan-made flash games that slam the likes of Goku from Dragon Ball Z and Jesus Christ himself together have gone down a treat with Smash fans, while the likes of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale had gameplay as clunky and ugly as its title. Very few official rip-offs have been successful - but that could be about to change.

Nickelodeon's Own Smash Clone Announced

A brand new fighting game inspired by the likes of Super Smash Bros is here featuring the cartoon characters from our childhoods is set to be on the way, in the form of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

The game is developed by Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, and has just been announced exclusively by IGN, and boasts a massive roster of classic characters.

The game features characters and stages from shows like Spongebob SquarepantsTeenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesThe Wild Thornberries and many more.

You can check out the brand new trailer here:

The full list of fighters is yet to be revealed, but IGN reports that the following characters will be appearing:

  • Michelangelo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
  • Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
  • Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys)
  • Powdered Toast Man (Ren & Stimpy)
  • SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob SquarePants)
  • Sandy Cheeks (SpongeBob SquarePants)
  • Patrick Star (SpongeBob SquarePants)
  • Oblina (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters)
  • Lucy Loud (The Loud House)
  • Lincoln Loud (The Loud House)
  • Helga (Hey Arnold!)
  • Reptar (Rugrats)
  • Zim (Invader Zim)
  • Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom)

The game looks deliciously mad and is able to successfully replicate the most important part of any Smash game - a massive roster of great playable characters. We can't wait to dive into Jellyfish Fields and clobber the snot out of the Ninja Turtles.
