Reddit Calls Out PC Gamer Who 'Used WASD Wrong Their Whole Life'

No matter how old you are, you learn something new every day. Well, usually. However, these things are usually learnt internally or in your group of friends. When you’re taught something in front of a platform consisting of millions of people, it can be a little bit more irritating.

If you’re a PC gamer, you’ll know all about WASD. For you console gamers who maybe don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, it’s the movement keys on your keyboard.

In a Reddit post entitled ‘Apparently I have been using WASD wrong my whole life’, Reddit user xbobxdude1 (the irony isn’t lost on us either), they wrote: “What I always did and thought everyone did was pinky on A, ring finger on W, middle finger on S, and index finger on D. My friend told me that you use your middle finger for both W a S and your pinky for shift and control.”

They later added: “EDIT: I POSTED A VIDEO ON HOW I DO IT. I KNOW USERNAME CHECKS OUT I MADE THIS ACCOUNT BEFORE I GOT A PC. CALL ME A MONSTER IT WORKS FOR ME <3”

As you can probably imagine, Reddit users on the /pcgaming thread were horrified. One person commented: “this is honestly the weirdest thing I've ever heard. the main problem to me seems like it would be impossible to use shift or ctrl while still maintaining full directional control.”

Most of the other commenters (around 1.5k of them) were just as confused, with many remarking that it ‘sounds uncomfortable’. Honestly, give it a go. It’s hell-like.

User Mindura commented: “next you are going to tell us you were hitting spacebar with your elbow”.

Well there you have it, every day’s a school day.
