Red Dead fans are starved. Being forced to sit by idle whilst GTA Online gets all the updates it could ever want while Red Dead Online gets the scraps (at best) has been agonising for fans, with some even building their own manifestos and organising online protests in hopes that Rockstar would wise up.

Sadly, though, the game has struggled with little to go on. Players have been devastated by the lack of content, especially considering that RDO came out long after GTA Online.

Alas, they've had to consign to a fate that sees little new content added to the game. But, out of the blue, Red Dead Redemption 2 has ridden into town on a brand-new horse.

Red Dead Launches Suprise Update

A huge update has come for Red Dead Redemption 2 with absolutely no warning, and fans are baffled as to what it has done for the game.

As initially spotted by kindainappropriate on Reddit, the Steam page for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been graced with a huge update - coming in at a pretty strong 2.89 GB. And yet, nobody really knows what it's done.

No info has been offered by Rockstar, and fans are left clamouring to figure out what the update was actually for. Thankfully, it looks like they're gradually figuring it out.

Players Are Figuring Out Why Red Dead Has Been Updated

The post's comments have been revealing step-by-step exactly why the update has been issued, and it looks like it might just be a hefty bug-fixing update.

"Guys. I just went into my stable on my horse and it ACTUALLY WORKED," says one commenter. "I'm shocked this update seemingly actually fixed a bug. And yes, I did it twice in a row to make sure it wasn't a fluke."

As Users continue to figure out what the update entails piece by piece, we're sure we'll get some official patch notes soon enough. Well, that's if Rockstar still remembers Red Dead exists. It might not be much,  but rejoice that Rockstar hasn't quite taken Red Dead out back and put it down like a lame horse.
