Imane "Pokimane" Anys has announced that "after two years" her Twitch contract has come to an end. But, could she be moving to YouTube?

Moroccan-Canadian streamer Pokimane is one of the most instantly recognisable faces on Twitch. Since joining the Amazon-owned platform in 2013, she has gained 8.9 million followers and has established herself as one of the leading figures in the streaming community. Her growing popularity eventually led to her signing a multi-year exclusivity with Twitch in March 2020 and her success has only continued to grow. Although, there have definitely been some bumps in the road along the way.

Now, the streamer has claimed that her exclusive contract with Twitch has come to an end. While it wouldn't be surprising that she would continue with Twitch, her fans are wondering whether she could be moving to YouTube- an explosive move that many of her fellow streamers have made before her.

When Did Pokimane's Twitch Contract End?

On January 31, Pokimane took to Twitter to announce that her Twitch contract had come to an end "after a wild two years" with the platform. No one could argue with her about that one as 2022 has already been "a wild" time for the streamer. In January alone, she received her first ever Twitch ban for breaking DMCA rules and had to deal with a potential legal battle against Tyler "Ninja" Blevins.

The 25-year-old further stated that we won't see her again until February 8, when her "next chapter" begins. However, just exactly what this "next chapter" could be has caused a debate among her fans and some have even speculated that she could be moving to Twitch's rival platform, YouTube.

Is Pokimane Moving To YouTube?

As of writing, Pokimane hasn't commented any further about her Twitch contract coming to an end, or responded to rumours that she could be moving over to YouTube. Although, it's safe to say that she would be off to a great stand with already with over 6.7 million subs and over 607 million views on the platform. Not to mention, a number of her fellow streamers, such as Benjamin "DrLupo" Lupo, Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter, and who can forget Ludwig "Ludwig" Ahgren's big move.

While Pokimane has enjoyed huge success over on Twitch, it wouldn't be surprising if she joined the long list of content creators who have already made the big switch over to YouTube. But with Pokimane not being back in action until February 8, we will just have to wait and see.
