Rumours had been swirling about upcoming Sinnoh remakes for the majority of 2020, but on Feb 26 The Pokémon Company confirmed that the remakes were going to be coming to Nintendo Switch during Friday's Pokémon Presents 25th anniversary announcement.

Given a similar, but different new game title - Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be making their way into player's hands 'late 2021', and judging by the gameplay appears to be similar to the old-style games with a Let's Go twist. The game itself won't be developed by long-time Pokemon developers Game Freak, but will instead be made by ILCA with Game Freak's Junichi Masuda at the helm.

However, that wasn't all from the gaming giants, as it was also announced for the first time in Pokémon history, a new open-world adventure is in development via developer Game Freak called Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will also be based in the Sinnoh region, and was described as a pre-make by the developers. Talking about the new RPG title, the official Pokemon website description reads: "Set long before the events of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, this game will allow players to travel across Sinnoh to discover wild Pokémon and complete the region's very first Pokédex. And while Mount Coronet towering over the region makes it clear that you're in Sinnoh, the Pokémon you encounter in this era may be different from the ones you remember catching in other games set in this same region."

It's due to land next year. Are you excited?
