Perkz Reported For LEC Return After Cloud9 Listen To Buyout Offers

After stunning the world with his transfer to the LCS one year ago, Luka "Perkz" Perkovic is reportedly heavily considering a return to Europe, as Cloud9 entertain buyout offers on his contract.

As one of the best western players in League of legends history, Perkz's transfer from G2 Esports to Cloud9 was one that few expected, and he's since gone on to become just the second player ever to win championships on both soils.

However, despite Cloud9's LCS Spring 2021 victory and a Quarterfinal appearance on the World stage, Cloud9 are reported to be open to selling Perkz for the 2022 season.

According to Dot Esports, Perkz informed the Cloud9 staff of his willingness to leave the org, prior to their Worlds 2021 Quarterfinal bout versus Gen.G, having a desire to move closer to his family. 

Perkz himself joked that he's moving to DAMWON KIA in place of Kim "Khan" Dong-ha, when the Top-laner is called up for military service.

However, reports suggest that both LCS and LEC teams are looking to buyout his contract, which is valued at roughly $2million per year, and is set to run out in 2023. 

Perkz lost his father back in June 2020, with Dot Esports maintaining that being closer to his family is one of the main reasons for him leaving Cloud9, his most likely destination is Europe.

A return to G2 Esports could be on the cards for Perkz, as his former organisation are looking to rebuild their roster, whilst Fnatic have also had their fair share of roster woes following a troubled Worlds 2021 performance. 

Perkz's transfer saga is one of many ongoing stories in western League of Legends, as EU and NA are using the extra time gained from being eliminated for m the World Championships to build rosters capable of challenging China and Korea. 

Alongside Fnatic, G2, and Cloud9, TSM have announced that they will be overhauling their roster, as both Hu "SwordArt" Shuo-Chieh and Søren "Bjergsen” Bjerg are set to leave the organisation.
