Nintendo Is Letting You Play Kirby And The Forgotten Land Early
It's time to suck up or shut up, as Nintendo has given us a closer look at Kirby and the Forgotten Land. That air-filled favourite is rolling his way into the world of 3D platforming for the first time in his 20-year history, and if you can't wait to play this dystopian adventure, you aren't alone.
While most of us are having all our time swallowed by Elden Ring right now, let's not forget Nintendo is sneaking up the outside with some major releases like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. For many though, we just want to play Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Thankfully, the Mario overlords have a gift for you.
How Can You Play Kirby And The Forgotten Land?
Nintendo just dropped a six-minute trailer showcasing what's on the way in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, with the platformer showing off a very different Kirby. There's a buffet of new abilities on the table, with Kirby being gobble up a variety of different perks.
The gun-toting Ranger Kirby and Tornado Kirby are all well and good, but we're really here for Mouthful Mode that lets you become what you eat. Away from the already beloved Carby driving around, there's a lot of love for Lightbulb Kirby and Water Balloon Kirby. Nintendo also gave us a glimpse at the adorable Waddle-Dee Town and co-op - which means we're dying to jump into this The Last of Us-inspired world.
If you head over to the Nintendo Switch eShop, you can try out the Kirby and the Forgotten Land demo, which includes the first three levels and a boss fight. That's all well and good, but when you remember you'll be able to try out Mouthful Mode straight away, you'd better get downloading.
When Is Kirby And The Forgotten Land Out?
It's clear Nintendo is trying to tempt us in to go fishing ahead of Kirby and the Forgotten Land's March 25 release. The first reviews are trickling in from the journalists who've been able to give the title a hands-on preview, and from what we've heard, it's the perfect antithesis to the dark and grimy aesthetic of Elden Ring. Still, the two games are oddly being compared to each other a lot.
Another comparison is that Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a Mario Odyssey stopgap until we get the inevitable sequel. With Mario being able to possess thanks to Cappy, we can see why Forgotten Land's Mouthful Mode might have you thinking this. The good news is that the Kirby and the Forgotten Land demo was apparently supposed to land on March 7, so we guess Nintendo is feeling generous. Once it's downloaded, off you go and fill your boots.
