As streamers from across the globe attempted to organise a Twitch boycott amid hate raids aimed at marginalised content creators, the platform was dealt with another unexpected big blow. Two of Twitch's top-performing streamers quit the platform entirely, with YouTube Gaming being the destination for both Benjamin "DrLupo" Lupo and Timothy "TimTheTatman" John Betar.

TimTheTatman announced his move to YouTube on September 1, joining the likes of 100 Thieves Co-Owner duo Jack "CouRage" Dunlop and Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter on an ever-expanding list of top-calibre streamers exclusive to the platform.

With a catalyst of creators moving away from the previously dominant streaming platform, even more of the most-watched streamers could be following the charge to YouTube, including FaZe Clan and MFAM stalwart Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff.

Taking to his latest broadcast, after 13 hours grinding through the Apex Legends ranked system, NICKMERCS was quizzed on his family life, and opened up about the possibility of having a child with his wife.

After revealing that it could be on the cards next year, as the hurdles of 2021 have been jumped over, NICKMERCS admitted that "I've signed the biggest deal of my life. By far. The kind of deal that it's not about you any more, it's about your family and friends.

"We're making moves."

The relevant topic begins at 13:27:00.

He continued: "I signed a big contact man, I signed a beefer. It's great things, you guys are going to love it. I can't go into details yet, but soon, trust.

Both DrLupo and TimTheTatman signed their previous Twitch contracts after NICKMERCS, which would imply that the negotiation period is in full flow for the 30-year-old Call of Duty fragger.

NICKMERCS also told his chat that he will be flying to Las Vegas following the MFAM barbeque, alongside some of his closest friends, family members, and colleagues, to celebrate the deal. With champagne bottles being popped on a private, it's clear that NICKMERCS is getting ready for a life-changing sum of money, possibly at the hands of YouTube.

Should YouTube land NICKMERCS, it would fully cement their challenge against Twitch as the biggest streaming platform around, with many other big names keeping a close eye on the situation.
