When it comes to Sony first-party studios, they don't come much bigger than Naughty Dog. While the gaming powerhouse was once known for spinning into action with Crash Bandicoot, it then had us hunting for treasure on globe-trotting adventures with Uncharted, and then, surviving the fungal infection of The Last of Us

Up there with the might of Sony Santa Monica and the God of War games, or Insomniac with its growing library of Marvel games, Naughty Dog is one of the main reasons gamers buy a PlayStation instead of an Xbox. We've been told the acclaimed developer is working on "multiple" games, and now, we might know what one of them is.

What Is Naughty Dog Working On Right Now?

Over on Twitter, @OopsLeaks claims to have the inside track on what's going on at Naughty Dog HQ. There is a tonne of information here, but the big one is a new IP, that's reportedly a fantasy game that doesn't involve Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann. Interestingly, this information comes after Naughty Dog Senior Concept Artist Hyoung Nam shared concept art for a fantasy game last year.

Given Naughty Dog's seemingly golden touch when it comes to creating IPs, we're excited to see whether there's more to this one. The concept art gave us some serious Horizon vibes, so just imagine what Naughty Dog can do with a new fantasy world. The story doesn't end there, with other updates giving us an insight into the long-rumoured The Last of Us Part 2 multiplayer.

Despite originally planning to launch with multiplayer, the mythical Factions 2 is yet to materialise. Here, OopsLeaks says it's a "mix of Tarkov and Division with additional modes inspired by the original Factions MP." It was supposed to be a battle royale title before being rebooted. Whatever is on the way, it's described as a "single-player-like experience in online game" that will launch on PS5 and later on PC.

Will There Be The Last Of Us Part 3?

Forget Uncharted 5, fans are rightly asking what happens next for the Cordyceps infection. The ending of 2020's divisive The Last of Us Part 2 left plenty of doors open for the likes of Ellie, Abby and others, with The Last of Us Part 3 being an easy sell for many. Keeping with divisive trends, there's also been potential talk about the transgender character of Lev being the lead of the next game - which has already rattled some.

In terms of where The Last of Us Part 3 is up to, it's not just a fanciful pipe dream of gamers. Druckmann himself confirmed there's an outline for a story, but reiterated last April that it isn't in active development. The good news is that if Druckmann isn't working on this fantasy title, there's every chance he could be putting all his energy into The Last of Us Part 3. For now though, take everything with a big pinch of salt.
