With the recent accusations and revelations surrounding Justin Roiland, a lot of entertainment franchises could be on the line.

According to NBC News, the Rick and Morty creator has been charged with a felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and a felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit - relating to an incident from 2020.

Adult Swim has officially cut ties with Roiland, although the network will continue Rick and Morty without its lead voice actor rather than sack its hard-working staff.

Now, gaming company Squanch Games appears to be doing the same - even as its future has become uncertain to many.

Squanch Games Will Continue Without Justin Roiland

It's been confirmed that despite Justin Roiland's recent charge, Squanch Games is adamant about continuing. This comes after Roiland resigned directly from the studio he founded.

"On January 16, 2023, Squanch Games received Justin Roiland's resignation," reads a new statement posted to the official Squanch Games Twitter account. "The passionate team at Squanch will keep developing games we know our fans will love while continuing to support and improve High On Life."

This is good news for players who are fans of Squanch Games' titles, especially High On Life, which ended up being one of the Xbox Game Pass' most popular games of 2022.

While fans were concerned about the game's future and a mythical sequel following Roiland's exit, there may now be hope.

What Does This Mean For High On Life 2?

While there isn't any confirmation that High On Life 2 is actually happening, at least we know Squanch Games isn't disbanding without Roiland.

A potential sequel wouldn't feature Roiland anyway, meaning either his characters will be recast or simply won't appear if it ever comes to fruition.

Even if there's no proof that High On Life 2 exists, at least the Roiland roadblock has been cleared. Considering the first game's huge success on Xbox, it could be a major money-spinner for Squanch Games,
