Expensive Gengar Bed Is Giving Pokemon Fans Nightmares
Halloween may be well and truly behind us, and although we've just missed the Christmas rush, that doesn't mean you can't treat the ultimate Pokefan the perfect Pokegift. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, what says "I love you" more than a nightmarish Gengar bed based on the goliath Ghost Pokemon?
Heading back to the early days of those adorable Pocket Monsters, the original 150 gifted us some of the most iconic Pokemon out there. Yes, you might love Lucario, be potty for Pichu, and go mad for Mudkip, but does anything really beat the OGs?
Popularised by the Pokemon anime as well as games like Pokemon Red and Blue, the misunderstood Ghost Pokemon have always had a special place in our hearts. Even though newer iterations of the franchise have introduced imaginative Ghost Pokemon including Drifloom, Chandelure, and Mismagius, the first 150 only had Ghastly, Haunter, Gengar, and Marowak. Keen to cash in on the nostalgia of these spooky spirits, one company had released a giant Gengar bed that also doubles up as a plushie.

Apart from Lickitung, Gengar probably had the biggest tongue in the Poke-kingdom, which is shown off in all its glory here. If you're feeling a little tired of the mortal realm and want to pass over to the other side, put your head inside Gengar's mouth and roll out his massive tongue to turn this cute toy into a makeshift camp bed. We assure you that you'll sleep like the dead in this one if you're in need of 40 winks.
For kids and adults alike (at a squeeze), Gengar's tongue rolls out to five-and-a-half feet long, meaning you can have a lie down wherever you want. The pictures show this is perfect for sleepovers or even the office. We're sure you'd get some weird looks from your boss if you wrapped in Gengar's tongue for a quick nap in the middle of the day, but hey, it's been a long day. Be warned though, the price tag along might cause you to cross over to the spirit world. If you're already sold on the Gengar bed, it'll cost you $250/£184 - and that's before we get to shipping.

The designs don't end there though. Doing some sleuthing, it looks like the site is also shipping Metapod bed. Let's be honest though, unless you're the early Ash Ketchum, no one really wants to be associated with Metapod. If a giant Gengar bed is a bit much for you, why not show your love of Pokemon with some Pokemon face masks? As the global pandemic continues, you can step out in style and protect yourselves from COVID-19. Original Stitch is selling designs based on the first 151.
