FIFA Game Is Changing Its Name To 'EA Sports FC' In 2023
After nearly 30 years of FIFA, the franchise will officially be rebranded in 2023, killing off the name that has been a stalwart of the footballing/gaming world, with EA Sports FC taking over.

From a pixelated mess back in 1993 to becoming the world's greatest-selling franchise of games with cutting-edge technology replicating the movement and skill of real-life athletes, FIFA, as a gaming entity, will be laid to rest following FIFA 23, as the developers have officially unveiled EA Sports FC.
As of 2023, EA Sports FC will be released instead of a yearly FIFA game, although all of the iconic game modes will persist. Speaking in a blog post Cam Weber, Executive Vice President and Group General Manager at EA Sports, said: "Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football will all be there," in EA Sports FC, alongside "more than 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues."
Interestingly, Weber pointed out that EA Sports FC will include "exclusive partnerships with the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, the MLS, and more," inferring that the Italian League will be restored to its true name in the upcoming title, while the French Ligue 1 has been omitted.
EA Promises FIFA 23 Will Go Out With A Bang
As one of the most iconic gaming franchises ever, EA has revealed that their last instalment under this branding will be their "most expansive" FIFA ever.
EA has promised that FIFA 23 is set to be "our best ever", allowing the game to be an adept closing chapter of a fantastic saga. Continuing in the blog post, Weber said that FIFA 23 will have, "more features, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, leagues, competitions, and players than any FIFA title before."
More details on what EA Sports FC has to offer will be revealed next summer, according to Weber, although we'll likely see some leaks slip through their goalie gloves in the coming months.
