Despite being notorious for being more concerned with social following than world rankings in the current day, FaZe Clan's competitive roots have only grown stronger over the last year, crowning their Atlanta Call of Duty franchise as World Champions alongside their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster already hoisting two trophies above their heads in 2022.

Having seen the CS:GO roster take home back-to-back championships, the Clan have finally regained their position on the pedestal on which they once reigned from.

FaZe Clan Claim #1 World Ranking In CS:GO

Back in 2017/18, FaZe Clan ruled with an iron fist in CS:GO, claiming seven championships in an 18-month period, including the $500,000 ELeague Premier Playoffs, leading them to be named the best team in the world, according to HLTV's esteemed rankings.

Now, after a four-year silverware absence, consecutive championships have led FaZe Clan to dethrone the previously dominant Natus Vincere as HLTV's number one ranked team in the world.

The rankings movement comes as FaZe beat Na'Vi 2-0 in the most recent ESL Pro League Season 15, before going on to win the entire event and claiming the $190,000 first prize.

It comes as the first time that Na'Vi has been unseated as the globe's most feared team, having held the top spot for nine months.

How Did FaZe Become CS:GO's Best Team In The World?

FaZe Clan's road to being number one again first came with their downfall in 2018, as European sides like Astralis, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Virtus.pro (now "Outsiders") began to take home global events before the coronavirus pandemic pressed paused on this calibre of tournament.

Since the return of live events though, FaZe Clan has found a great rhythm by rallying behind Finn "karrigan" Andersen. With the most recent addition of Robin "ropz" Kool and the experience of FaZe's one-club veteran HÃ¥vard "rain" Nygaard, FaZe's trophies have returned in plenty.

Despite rain's absence at IEM Katowice, loanee Justin "jks" Savage contributed to FaZe's first win of the year, which has continued to set the tone on their journey to the throne.

Now, perched on top of the tree, FaZe will look to retain their status at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, although they will first have to qualify through a stacked European group.
