In the gaps between furious bosses and giant b*stards hell-bent on turning players into Tarnished pancakes, Elden Ring fans will often spend their time on the hunt for Runes.

Scouring the Lands Between and killing big baddies rewards players with the chance to upgrade their skills, something that certainly isn't unwelcome in a world so furiously inhospitable.

Fans need their Rune hit, for good reason - and fans have found an exploit to maximise Rune output.

Sleeping Dragon Exploit Dishes Out Huge Sums Of Runes

Elden Ring's giant sleeping dragon has perplexed players for a while, as it seems impervious to all damage - but it's particularly susceptible to bleed damage, and YouTuber Caspahz have found a way to exploit the dragon to continue to spawn after it has been killed.

Once the player has finally (after about three and a half minutes, so pack snacks) toppled the dragon, the play is to immediately stop attacking and sprint on horseback to the Fort Faroth Site of Lost Grace and get some rest.

If you're quick enough, the dragon will still be there when you return, with 50,000 Runes waiting for you, for you to start the process all over again.

Where Is The Sleeping Dragon?

If you want to find the sleeping dragon yourself, you're going to need to use the Waygate closest to the Third Church of Marika, which will be easier to find once you've got the Limgrave Map Fragments.

Once through the Waygate, go southeast over the bridge inhabited by Flying Dragon Geyll, head around the Erdtree to the southwest of there, and jump up the cliff to the Site of Lost Grace. From there, head northwest, and you'll see the dragon there.

It's a huge exploit that players will likely use for immense sums of Runes - so you might want to get in ASAP in case it gets patched very soon.

If you are super keen to get some Runes, don't fret our Elden Ring Rune farming guide will give you the opportunity to farm up to 300,000 Runes.
