Are you wondering how to level up Deepsight in Destiny 2? While this new mechanic introduced to Destiny 2 via The Witch Queen expansion may seem like a bit of a gimmick, you'll need it to scour every inch of the newly explorable Throne World. Chests and other hidden goodies can be inaccessible without the new ability, but quite often they require an upgrade. In typical fashion, it isn't quite clear how to level up your Deepsight in Destiny 2, so we've got a breakdown on exactly how to do just that.

  • Combing through the late game of this expansion? Check out our guide on the Destiny 2 Altar of Reflection, so you can discover the secrets of Savathun, whilst gaining some well-needed gear.

Deepsight in Destiny 2 is a brand new ability that lets you visualise hidden pathways for a limited amount of time. While exploring the depths of The Throne World, you will come across Deepsight revealing points all over the place.

It can give you a helpful ledge to get you to a previously inaccessible spot, or even make stone vanish opening up brand new pathways. But in free roam it is primarily used as a way to reach those coveted loot chests.

Once you've wrapped up the main campaign, quite often you will come across Deepsight spots that are locked off to you. These spots will say that you "Require Deepsight Tier 2" or even 3. However, throughout the campaign, the ability to level up is never explained and so you may find yourself confused as to how to do so.

Luckily, it is actually pretty easy, although it can prove to be a time-consuming task that you may decide to put on the backburner.

That's because levelling up Deepsight in Destiny 2 is done by levelling up with the Throne World NPC Fynch. This Hive Ghost is your go-to for all things the Throne World, and he's not too bad for the occasional high-end bit of gear.

So to unlock Tier Two or Three of Deepsight, you simply need to level up your Throne World Rank. The second tier unlocks at Level 11, while the third unlocks at Level 15. For reference, the current max rank of the Throne World is 30.

To level up quickly, complete daily bounties for Fynch, unlock chests - marks on the map a symbol similar to the Ghosts - and take part in public events. Together you should steadily increase your Throne World rank and have that Deepsight ranked up in no time.

That's how to level up Deepsight in Destiny 2, so get exploring. Just ensure you have a good gun with you when you are doing so by checking out our Destiny 2 weapons crafting guide.
