ASMR Streamer Amouranth Just Bought A Gas Station For $4,000,000

Got a spare $4,000,000 handy? Well, you could take a leaf out of Amouranth's book and buy yourself a gas station. 

Some of the most popular streamers have invested their earnings in a whole load of ways. For example, Tyler "Trainwrecks" Niknam sent a fellow streamer's mum $64,000 to her bitcoin wallet. There was, also, the YouTuber who bought a whole billboard to demand the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies remaster. 

Now, Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa has revealed that she has invested money into buying a gas station.

Why Did Amouranth Buy A Gas Station?

This might seem like a bit of a random purchase for Amouranth. However, after initially teasing her fans with the announcement, the popular streamer took to her Twitter to explain the reasons why she has invested her money into the property, and it makes a lot of sense. 

Amouranth has built up a hugely successful platform for herself across Twitch, YouTube, and Twitter, so this may seem like a completely random new career. However, the move seems to have been more of a financial investment rather than a career change. Don't worry, despite being banned from Twitch, it doesn't look like Amouranth will be hanging up the microphone any time soon, she won't be working there herself. Rather, she'll be leasing it to a publicly-traded company who will transform the station into a Circle K, which is a Canadian convenience store and gas station chain. 

How Much Did Amouranth Buy The Gas Station For?

On Twitter, Amouranth claimed that she paid $4,000,000 to buy the station. Well, more specifically, she invested $1,000,000 and borrowed the rest of the money. It's clear that she has certainly done her homework as she went on to explain that the purchase actually saves her money on income tax. 

Amouranth went into further detail into how exactly she saves money through the purchase. On the post, Amouranth claimed: "Now since we bought this gas station & in accordance with applicable laws (&/once structured correctly) I will take an accelerated depreciation charge of approximately $3m, $3,000,000 * .37 (my marginal tax rate) = $1,110,000. So for 2021 I will owe $1,110,000 LESS in income tax." Amouranth went on to explain: "Remember I invested $1,000,000 to buy this gas station. Now I owe $1,110,000 LESS in taxes for the calendar year. So we get back or 'save' $110,000. And we acquire a gas station generating $85,000/year in rental / lease income. (That we don’t have to manage)". Phew, that's a lot of numbers.

Long story short, what it basically means is that the gas station generates an annual income of $85,000, and she will owe $110,000 less in taxes. Then, in future, she will sell the property for much more money than she originally paid for and use the profits to purchase another property.

Now, I don't have $4,000,000 in my bank account, but if there's a petrol station for sale for a fiver out there - then count me in.
