Yaaas kween, we're ready to slay another day with M3GAN, as the demonic doll could be primed to put her ferocious grip on the world of video games. In fact, she's not alone, as some of horror's biggest IPs are preparing to leap into pixels.

Few do modern horrors as well as Blumhouse Productions. Alongside 2018's Halloween reboot and the Oscar-winning Get Out, Blumhouse has given us everything from Paranormal Activity to The Purge, Insidious to The Black Phone. Now, it's putting video games in its crosshairs.

As reported by Variety, Blumhouse is launching Blumhouse Games, which will publish video games "in the spirit of its film business" and "enable innovation and push creative boundaries." If that sounds impressive, it will be done on an "indie budget" of under $10 million.

Video game producer Zach Wood is President, while former PlayStation executive Don Sechler serves as CFO. Titles will include console, PC, and mobile releases. Blumhouse President Abhijay Prakash said the horror house has been looking at how to "start accessing the growth opportunity in interactive media."

Wood boasts over 20 years of experience and has notable titles like Prey and the upcoming Redfall under his belt. Meanwhile, Sechler ran finance and strategy for PlayStation's publisher/developer division, with a particular focus on third-party games.

Hyping the groaning catalogue, Wood said, "There's a unique opportunity for horror and genre in the indie game space. I'm thrilled about teaming up with Blumhouse to meaningfully leverage the company's brand, reputation, and creative talent."

What Blumhouse IP Would We Like To See As Video Games?

The possibilities are frankly endless, and let's not forget Blumhouse has upcoming releases, including Insidious: Fear the Dark, a reboot of The Exorcist, and Megan 2.0. Any of these would be primed for a tie-in game/games to help market them more.

Whether it be a survival horror set on the night of The Purge, or a Five Nights at Freddy's-inspired game for Paranormal Activity where you watch security cameras, there's a continuous supply of ideas. Speaking of Freddy Fazbear, Blumhouse is heading up the live-action Five Nights movie.

Starring Scream's Matthew Lillard as villain William Afton, the star told the WeeklyMTG podcast he's signed a three-picture with Blumhouse. As the lines blur between movies and video games, the long-awaited Five Nights could continue The Last of Us' winning streak of breaking the adaptation curse.

Blumhouse follows in the footsteps of everyone from TikTok to Netflix trying to break into gaming, and while we're yet to see much real success from either of them, the famed fear factory could buck the trend.
