The Warzone 2 roadmap was released in a blog post on the official Call of Duty website, which detailed some of the changes made from the original one. Firstly, it's been confirmed that Season 1 of both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will begin on November 16 at 6 pm GMT (10 am PT/1 pm ET), introducing the new battle pass. The new map, Al Mazrah, was explained in more depth, revealing some of the major POIs, such as Al Bagra Fortress, Embassy, Sariff Bay, Taraq, and more. You can see a full explanation of the map in a different COD blog post here

Along with the new map, there is a brand-new mode for Warzone called DMZ, which also takes place on Al Mazrah, and is similar to the gameplay of Escape From Tarkov. The Gulag has also been redesigned in a few ways. Apart from having a new look and layout, when you go to the Gulag, you will now be partnered up with a random player for a 2v2, where the winning team gets to return to the game. The two teams can also join up to defeat the Jailer enemy in the middle, granting all of them a second chance. However, there is a strict time limit, and if they fail to kill the Jailer in time, all players will be eliminated.

Many other features have been changed a little for Warzone 2, while others are completely new. Aquatic combat has been added, giving more depth to encounters in the water. Proximity chat has been added, along with two new vehicles: the Heavy Chopper and Hummer EV, and a circle collapse feature which means there can be up to three circles for the final zone. Custom loadouts are back, which can be bought at shops or earned at loadout drops, strongholds, and black sites.

One of the more notable additions is the third-person playlist, which will be introduced into the battle royale weekly rotation for all of Season 1. This changes the perspective of the game completely, changing the fundamentals of Warzone, and forcing players to adapt. The rest of the changes can be seen in the image at the top of the article.

That's all for our coverage of the Warzone 2 roadmap, and now you know what changes and additions have been made to the new battle royale game.

We also have a Warzone 2 Strongholds explained guide, which covers the new areas that feature AI enemies.
