Every time an episode of VALORANT ends, players can collect a special ranked gun buddy to represent their achievements in the Competitive mode. There are a total of eight gun buddies, with one for each of the Competitive ranks, but you'll only gain one of these at the end of each episode.

The one you earn is based on the average highest rank you achieved across all three acts, so if you spend most of the episode in Gold, and reach Platinum near the end of the final act, the gun buddy you'll get is gold. While it's a good way of flexing your previous rank, it also allows you to track your progress over the course of the game as new episodes are released.

Getting your VALORANT rank buddy is also really easy, as it's an automatic process and you won't need to do anything yourself. Once you download the latest Patch 6.0 and start Episode 6, you should receive the gun buddy automatically in your inventory. Just head to the collection screen, select a weapon, and then choose the gun buddy from the list and equip it.

If you haven't received the gun buddy yet and have already downloaded the latest patch, just wait a few days. Sometimes it takes a while for them to be gifted to all the players.

That's all for our breakdown of how to get the VALORANT rank buddy for Episode 5, and now you will have a new gun buddy for your weapons.

You may also a full VALORANT skins list, which covers all the bundle, battle pass, and agent skins in the game.
