Horror fans may want to know how to sign up for The Outlast Trials beta, as the closed beta test was recently announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live. The Outlast Trials is the third game in the Outlast franchise, which began back in 2013 with a frightening single player trip to an insane asylum, however this new entry looks to shake things up with multiplayer elements. We still don't have much information on how exactly the game will play, but it looks to feature much of the same cat and mouse mechanics with the ability to fight back with traps and trickery. So check out how to sign up for The Outlast Trials beta, so you can join the uninitialised.

The Outlast Trials closed beta test is set to run from October 28 to November 1, giving players a full weekend to test out the game. One of the biggest surprised about the new Outlast is that it's a PC exclusive, and only Steam players will have a chance to take part in the beta test. It's unknown why Red Barrels decided to abandon the console base, but as we still lack information on an actual release date, there may be more they are still not telling us.

If you're looking to sign up for the beta, follow this process:

  • Load up Steam and find the store page for The Outlast Trials.
  • Scroll down, and you will find a section titled "Join the The Outlast Trials Playtest" where there will be a button to request access.
  • Select this option, confirm your choice, and you will be put on the list for the closed beta test starting on October 28.

You will be notified by email closer to the date if you successfully are chosen to participate, so keep an eye out through October.

That's all for our walkthrough of how to sign up for The Outlast Trials beta, and now you know how to make sure you're on the list of potential players.
