Love (and Woobats) are in the air this Valentine’s Day! On February 14th 2023 Woobat will be in the spotlight, meaning you’ll have an increased chance of encounters, and double Stardust to boot.

With Woobat’s (and its evolution Swoobat’s) adorable pink, heart-shaped nose, it’s the perfect pick for a Valentine’s Day-themed team.

But if you really want to make your lover swoon(bat), you might be asking yourself… Can Woobat be shiny in Pokemon GO?

Good news for Woobat fans. Yes! Woobat has a small chance of being shiny in Pokemon GO.

Its shiny form has a pretty mint colour, alongside its signature pink nose. But bad news for Woobat fans - it won’t be easy to find. Keep reading to find out you can boost your chances of finding shiny Woobat in Pokemon GO.

Does Spotlight Hour Boost Shiny Chances?

Pokemon GO has Spotlight Hour, which increases the spawn rate of a specific Pokemon. It runs every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 6:59 p.m. local time. If you’re looking for extra candy, high CP Pokemon, and shinies, this is your best bet.

Based on data gathered by the Pokemon GO community, many people believe that Spotlight Hour does not boost shiny chances. However, it does increase spawn rate, meaning the sheer number of Pokemon you’ll encounter will improve your chances of encountering a shiny Pokemon.

Now Valetine’s Day has sadly passed, you might be wondering what your chances are of encountering Woobat and Swoobat. Fortunately, they can be found at any time of the year. Their spawn rate is increased during windy weather, so hold on to your hats if you venture out Trainer!

How To Evolve Woobat

If you’re after a Swoobat in Pokemon GO, you’ll need to find it in the wild, or evolve it. Similar to the mainline games, Woobat evolves via friendship. To evolve Woobat, you’ll need to walk 1km with it as your Buddy, then feed in 50 Woobat candy.
