Pokemon GO has many Mega Evolutions, and one of the coolest is Mega Aerodactyl. This Rock/Flying-type is the only Fossil Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, which is rather interesting. It's also a pretty decent attacker, which makes it an attractive 'mon for those planning to do some battling.

To defeat a Mega Aerodactyl Raid, you'll want to make sure you're bringing the right Pokemon to the fight. Luckily, we're here to help. This guide will outline Mega Aerodactyl's weaknesses, the best counters to this Raid boss, and which moves to teach it for maximum attacking potential.

As a Rock/Flying-type, Mega Aerodactyl has a whopping five weaknesses. These are Electric, Ice, Rock, Steel, and Water.

However, on the other side of the coin is an even longer list of resistances. Mega Aerodactyl resists six types: Bug, Fire, Flying, Ground, Normal, and Poison.

Mega Aerodactyl is a great attacker in PvE, but Mega Evolutions are not typically allowed in PvP. However, they can be used against Team GO Rocket Grunts.

In PvE, Rock Throw and Rock Slide are far and away the best options. Ancient Power is a bit worse as a charged move, but it's still okay. Opt for Rock Slide, though. There are no Flying-type moves available to Mega Aerodactyl, so it's definitely better as a Rock-type attacker, of course.

In PvP, which, for Mega Evolutions, is usually only against Team GO Rocket grunts, the same moves are still best.

Mega Evolutions can be used against Team GO Rocket. If you're hoping to take down the boss, check out our guide to the best counters for defeating Giovanni.
