Destiny 2 Strand subclass is the finally revealed new Darkness subclass that is coming to the game. Destiny 2 is gearing up towards the release of Lightfall, the new expansion coming this month. There have been many rumours and leaks about a potential future darkness power, and Strand seems to be the culmination of those rumours. Here is everything we know about the Destiny 2 Strand subclass coming to the game soon.

  • Lightfall will also add loadouts to Destiny 2. Check out all we know here.

All Destiny 2 subclasses have a root in some particular source of power. For Strand, this source seems to be a psychic power from within the Guardians themselves. The pervading colour scheme is green, as previous leaks and rumours suggested. However, this power does not come from a known source, as it will be a power the Guardians will develop themselves.

This seems to be a big moment in the story, where the Guardians are no longer dipping their toe into using the Darkness, and are instead mastering it. These new powers will give Guardians far more control over their environment than ever before.

So, what will we call these Strand-wielding Guardians?

Hunters that wield the new green power will be called Threadrunners, Titans will gain the Berserker subclass, and Strand Warlocks will be called Broodweavers.

With new subclasses comes the question, what can we do with it? Well, number one with a bullet is a new traversal ability that will be available to all classes. Guardians can use Strand to create grappling hooks anywhere. By anywhere, we mean literally anywhere. They do not need a particular place to hook on to, they do not even need a physical object to hook on to. At any time, you can throw out your grappling hook and launch yourself through the air.

Of course, each Guardian class will have their own Strand abilities as well. We haven't seen everything that Strand Guardians can do, but we have seen some of their new moves. We have seen the Hunter super is basically the Strand grappling hook used as a rope dart, swung around at high speeds and whipped at enemies. Warlocks are masters of the telekinetic aspect of this power, and can use it to create Strand missiles and launch them at enemies. Titans use Strand to create deadly claws to slice apart their opponents.

We have also seen some teasers of other Strand abilities, such as Warlocks casting what seem like miniature Strand missiles, and Hunters creating an area in which enemies are literally strung up by Strand. Strand is looking to be one of the most unique and interesting subclasses that Destiny 2 has ever had.
