Destiny 2 Season Of Defiance: Start Date, Changes And All We Know About Season 20
Destiny 2 Season of Defiance is confirmed to be the title for the upcoming Season 20. Destiny 2 has a lot going on with the launch of Lightfall, but the seasonal content still continues alongside it. Season of Defiance will keep the plot moving beyond the story of the new expansion, and keep players busy for the months to come. Here is everything we know so far about Destiny 2 Season of Defiance.

Destiny 2 Season Of Defiance: Release Date
Although we might all be a bit busy that day, the release date for Season of Defiance is of course February 28th, the same as the Destiny 2 Lightfall release date. The content of the season will be available from that day, but only once you have completed the Lightfall campaign.
As such, while you can begin to tackle the Season of Defiance content from February 28th, you will need to speedrun through the campaign first.

Destiny 2 Season Of Defiance: Changes To Seasonal Activities
There are a lot of changes coming to the seasonal activities over the course of this year, and some of those changes are coming in Season of Defiance. Bungie has expressed interest in revamping and reorganising the way seasonal content works, and first on the list are seasonal vendors as per a new blog post.
Each season has a particular NPC who acts as the vendor for that season. From Season of Defiance onwards, focusing weapons and armour at these vendors will be simplified. Umbral engrams and energies are going away, and the process will simply require Glimmer and a seasonal engram.
Speaking of, you will no longer need to carry as many engrams around as the seasonal engrams will all be stored on the vendor. Another change coming to seasonal vendors is the upgrade system, with vendor upgrades being streamlined - there will be fewer of them but each upgrade will be more impactful.
Further streamlining is also coming to seasonal currencies. The currencies players have been gathering in each recent season will be replaced with keys. Instead of extra rewards costing certain amounts of specific currencies, they will now use treasure keys. These will be a bit rarer, but if you have a key, then you will be able to get those extra seasonal rewards from activities.
