Destiny 2 Season 18 artifact mods are something that some would consider to be the most important factor of the upcoming season. Destiny 2 changes things up each season with a new artifact, an item that grants a variety of mods that tend to dictate what does and doesn't work well in high-level PvE content, such as Raids and Grandmaster Nightfalls. While details about season 18 are still scant, we have learned quite a bit about the artifact mods coming with this new season. Here is everything we know so far about the Destiny 2 Season 18 artifact mods.

  • In less than a week we are getting another reworked Destiny raid in Destiny 2, but what the Destiny 2 Season 18 raid will be is still a bit of a mystery. Click here to learn more.

From what we know so far about the artifact mods in season 18, we can glean a few details. Firstly, we know what the anti-champion mods will be. For Overload Champions, we have Overload Bows and Overload LMGs. To stop the unstoppables, we have Unstoppable Pulse Rifles and Unstoppable Shotguns. Then to deal with Barrier Champions, we have Anti-Barrier Scout Rifles, Anti-Barrier Auto Rifles and Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifles.

Pair with these the change in season 18 which means some exotic weapons will now have intrinsic anti-champion effects and it would seem that champions have little chance this season. Weapons such as Le Monarque and Thunderlord stopping Overload Champions, Malfeasance stunning Unstoppable Champions, and Wish-ender piercing Barrier Champions.

Many of the other perks focus on Arc weapons and abilities, as we can expect considering Destiny 2 Arc 3.0 is coming this season. Arc subclasses are the last to get the overhaul, and it seems Bungie wants to give Arc some extra love with these perks. We will have to wait until next week to really test these perks out with the updated subclasses to see what they can do, but it certainly seems that Bungie is aiming high with this one.

  • Looking beyond season 18, there is likely a new expansion on the horizon, and potentially a Destiny 2 poison subclass in tow.

Below is the table of artifact mods as they were revealed in the most recent This Week At Bungie. The perks have descriptions explaining what they do but, without context these are a bit vague. We can see what looks powerful, and which mods players should prioritise getting their hands on.

First Row Second Row (Unlocked After Two Perks Are Chosen) Third Row (After Four Perks) Fourth Row (After Eight Perks) Fifth Row (After Ten Perks)
Overload Bows (Arms) Scout Rifle Loader (Arms) Glaive Loader (Arms) Overload LMG (Arms): Uninterrupted fire from equipped Machine Guns will stun enemies with a beam that delays energy regeneration and reduces enemy damage output Thunderous Retort (Class): Arc Supers do more damage when cast while in critical condition or while Amplified
Unstoppable Pulse Rifles (Arms) Sword Ammo Scavenger (Legs) Focusing Strike (Arms): Causing damage with a melee ability grants class ability energy Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifles (Arms) Hype Train Conductor (Class): =2 seconds to Amplified timer. This perk can stack
Anti-Barrier Scout Rifles (Arms) Machine Gun Holster (Legs): Gradually reloads stowed Machine Guns over time. This perk can stack Arc = Solar Resistance (Chest): Increased Resistance Against Damage of Those Types Bad Amplitude (Class): Damaging a Champion with an Arc ability causes the Champion to become Jolted Trace Evidence (Class): Precision hits on Arc rebuffed target (Jolt/Blind) will generate Ionic Traces
Anti-Barrier Auto Rifles (Arms) Scout and Sniper Targeting (Head): Improved Scout/Sniper Rifle Targeting Machine Gun Ammo Scavenger (Legs) Surge Detonators (Class): Arc grenades disrupt combatants, stunning them, delaying ability regeneration and lowering damage output. Strong against Overload Champions Lightning Strikes Twice (Class): After throwing an Arc grenade, gain increased grenade recharge for a short time. Arc final blows extend the duration of this effect
Unstoppable Shotguns (Arms) Bottomless Bounty 1 (Head): Improves two Origin Perks Bottomless Bounty 2 (Head): Improves two Origin Perks Inferno Whip (Class Item): Solar melee abilities stun unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions

Sundering Glare (Class Item): Rapid precision hits against distant combatants weaken them for a short duration

The Amplified buff seems likely to be very powerful in season 18, so mods like Hype Train Conductor could be very useful. Also, Bad Amplitude and Lightning Strikes Twice could feature heavily in builds that focus on lots of Arc damage, chaining from enemy to enemy. It certainly looks to be an interesting season to play around with Arc 3.0, but we will have to wait until next week to know more.

That is everything we know about the Destiny 2 Season 18 artifact mods. For more on the game, check out our guide to the new Destiny 2 Trauermarsch Sparrow, grab it while you can.
