He might be the most hated character in Call of Duty history. General Shepherd's betrayal of Modern Warfare's beloved Task Force 141 was enough to send daggers into the hearts of the fan base, and when we pulled one out and hurled it into his eye, it was satisfaction of the highest quality.

But Shepherd did take two of Task Force 141's most elite forces from us in Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson and Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley, so it would only be natural if your vengeful bloodlust hasn't quite been quenched.

Luckily for us easily begrudged fans, we now might be able to kill him again, as people think that they've spotted confirmation that Shepherd is in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 title.

Shepherd 'Confirmed' As A Modern Warfare 2 Character

Ahead of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign early access, Infinity Ward has teased a few short clips of campaign footage, and although Shepherd cannot be seen, he might be heard.

Popular leaker and overall Call of Duty know-it-all "TheGhostOfHope" has claimed that Shepherd's voice lines can be heard in the promotional clips, albeit with a new actor.

The leaker claims that the voice lines of "Right on time" and "We can’t take him in Iran" are from the mouth of Shepherd, portrayed by famous voice actor Peter Cullen.

How Can Shepherd Be In Modern Warfare 2?

Shepherd's re-arrival back to the Modern Warfare series might not be as a bad guy though, after all, he was only a psychotic betraying bar-stand for a matter of two missions.

Instead, Shepherd could join Task Force 141 as a friendly face alongside the two protagonists Alex and Farah. Previous connections between Alex and Ghost were made during the Modern Warfare 2019 era, which could lead to a nice arc into their meeting with Shepherd.

While Shepherd would likely be an ally in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, who's to say that friendly fire can't be toggled? And, if so, wouldn't it be nice to get some justice for Ghost, by Ghost himself?
