It's almost hard to believe after the months of leaks and rumours we saw, but the remake of The Last of Us is finally, officially, on the way. It turns out, The Last of Us Part I comes with some unique PS5 perks.

While some fans of Naughty Dog's game are a little confused by the need for a remake of a title that only came out a decade ago and was already remastered for the PS4, they're equally likely to buy it anyway - as to be fair, it looks truly remarkable.

Visually alone, the survival horror has had a massive upgrade, and there's much more to come. It's been revealed by Sony exactly what The Last of Us Part I will be doing to make the most of the PS5 hardware upgrade.

How Is The Last Of Us Part I Different On PS5?

It sounds like The Last of Us Part I isn't just making its home on the PS5 because it's new. Naughty Dog is actually putting all of the features that the console can offer to make the experience as immersive as ever.

We now know thanks to a quiet post on the PlayStation Direct site some of the features coming to the game to make it a better experience than its previous releases.

This The Last of Us remake is giving Haptic Feedback to such a specific degree that it offers feedback "for every weapon and environmental effects such as the sensation of falling rain."

The listing also promises "dynamic Dualsense wireless controller trigger resistance" for all weapons, meaning that you'll be able to feel the tension of Ellie's bow and bullets leaving the chamber of revolvers. Blimey.

When Is The Last Of Us Part I Coming Out?

The Last of Us Part I was one of those not-so-secret gaming announcements, and the day of Summer Game Fest, the announcement was leaked before Neil Druckmann could do it. Still, the reimagining of the 2013 classic looks breathtaking. We can't wait to get our hands on Ellie's bow - though we've got a few months to sit through first.

The game comes out on September 2 2022, and with a few months to go, it might be worth revisiting The Last of Us Part II in the meantime for those who still need some breathtaking storytelling from inside Ellie's shoes. Why are you booing? we're right.
