For once, there's actual news about a return to Silent Hill that isn't based on rumours or leaks from supposed "insiders." Good news, as only recently, one exposed leaker admitted to making stories up about the horror franchise's return... just for the clout.

Ever since Sony pulled P.T. from the PlayStation Store and Silent Hills went silent, we've been trapped in a cycle of rumours and debunks. This never-ending loop of torment is quite fitting given the themes of Konami's once-lauded series. There's finally an update, as someone within the ranks of Konami accidentally confirms multiple games are in the works.

How Many Silent Hill Games Are In The Works?

Speaking to French publication MaG, Christophe Gans told impatient fans there are multiple Silent Hill games in the works. A translation was shared to ResetEra by noted leaker Dusk Golem. Here, Gans explained, "I'm working with the Silent Team, the original creators at Konami, there are several games in development as we speak, there are several teams on it, with a big line of games."

Gans promised us these will "revive the franchise," and that Konami has been spurred on by the success of Capcom's Resident Evil remakes. Well, it's about time those classic Silent Hill games got some love. More than just remakes though, we're excited to finally have an update on a proper return with a new title.

In case you didn't know, Gans directed 2006's Silent Hill movie starring Sean Bean. He's working with Konami because he's apparently helming a new movie - which is also great news. Despite some rumours, Hideo Kojima is reportedly not involved in any of the above. But what about those remakes? Well, it's a story we've heard before.

Is Bloober Team Working On Silent Hill?

We've previously heard about Bloober Team working on a remake of the legendary Silent Hill 2, and although the developer has denied it, Gans says they're definitely the ones bringing the 2001 game back to life. The idea of multiple Silent Hill games is one we've heard too many times, but if anyone was in the know, it would be someone like Gans.

There's been a recent run on Silent Hill news, with Korea registering something called Silent Hill: The Short Message. Screenshots of an apparent Silent Hill 2 remake leaked online, while there was also an apparent PlayStation-exclusive game as a full-blown return to that tortured town. If we keep talking about Silent Hill enough, then surely it'll be willed into existence.
