C0ntact Gaming's duo of franchises, Call of Duty League team, Paris Legion, and Overwatch League squad, Paris Eternal, are both in need of a huge overhaul, having both spent the majority of their time in each title marooned to the bottom of their respective leagues. With minimalistic budgets and squads, maybe a complete re-structure of the organisation is in order?

With that in mind, it appears that the org is looking to move from the 'capital of love' and opt for something a little more flashy, as the Eiffel Tower could be getting swapped for its Vegas replica.

C0ntact Gaming Filed For Vegas Franchising Names

C0ntact Gaming CEO Drew McCourt is also the mind behind of DM Esports - presumably using his own initials for the company - who currently own the trademarks for Call of Duty's Paris Legion and Overwatch's Paris Eternal, alongside the logo of the latter. Now, it's been spotted that DM Esports has filed for trademarks for a new city to host the respective teams, as Vegas Eternal and Vegas Legion have both been filed.

As of March 2022, the trademarks of Vegas Eternal and Vegas Legion were granted to DM Esports, which could indicate that following the end of the 2022 campaigns in CoD: Vanguard and Overwatch 2, C0ntact Esports' rosters will be representing the Nevada city.

It was previously rumoured that C0ntact Gaming may be selling their spots in both the CDL and OWL, and albeit the words were just hearsay, the idea that Paris won't be a represented city anymore might not have been far off its mark.

Interestingly, Las Vegas is suspected to be the location of the Call of Duty World Championships 2022, having been leaked on Doug "Censor" Martin's stream - a popular figure within the professional community and sub for recent CDL arrivals Boston Breach.

Should the rebrand of the Paris brands come into play, C0ntact Gaming could look to take advantage of the CDL's closing ceremony to announce the Vegas Legion, albeit the likelihood of the team actually qualifying for the event is drastically reducing with every fixture.

As to why the organisation may be looking to leave Paris, well, it might all lie in the sponsorships and funding. As only one of two European sides in the CDL, they may be best looking closer to North America to attract larger sponsors that will better fund the teams and begin to pay back the whopping $25 million buy-ins (approximately).
