Word of Hideo Kojima's new project, codenamed Overdose, has been spreading across the internet by a wealth of teasers. You might remember Kojima kicked things off with his "Who Am I?" poster that eventually revealed the involvement of Elle Fanning.

Since then, minor details have very gradually started to trickle out. Though players expected news about a sequel to Death Stranding first, a new game by the video game auteur is incredibly welcome. And now, it looks like our first look at Overdose has already leaked.

Hideo Kojima's New Game Has Leaked Some Images

It looks like we won't have to wait too long to actually see Overdose, as some images of the game have already leaked. As shared by Insider Gaming, screenshots from the upcoming Kojima project seem to be circulating in private Discord servers - with screenshots showing little that can be discerned, but they're images of the game regardless.

The images themselves have been shared to the site PPE, only in the form of screenshots from Discord and pictures taken of a computer screen with an external camera.

The quality is poor, but it does seem to indicate that a female character will be traversing a dark corridor with a flashlight. It also confirms at least part of the title is in the third-person. It's not a lot to go off of, but hey, it's certainly something.

Is Overdose The Kojima Xbox Game?

Rumours of the game have swelled, and fans are beginning to wonder if this new game is the project that Kojima is working on in collaboration with Xbox. Of course, we can't know for certain until it's revealed, but it certainly looks like it could be, because it wouldn't make sense for the Death Stranding sequel to hit Xbox.

Providing that Overdose is actually an original IP, it'd be perfect for the new home of Kojima. It's very exciting to see Overdose in action, and it's a lovely reminder that we're still lucky enough to have a creator like Kojima in action in the gaming world. He's back, baby.
