UPDATE 11/08 : In a statement to Eurogamer, Microsoft confirmed Elden Ring appearing as a Cloud Gaming option and potential Game Pass arrival was just a bug. A spokesperson told the site: "We're aware of a bug that incorrectly displayed some titles as available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. We rolled out a fix and this is now updated." Sorry to all you wannabe Tarnished.

Though many Tarnished have finally concluded their adventures across the Lands Between and become the Elden Lord, 2022 remains the year of Elden Ring. FromSoftware's game is much too impressive not to be regarded as the best release of the year so far, and there's no doubt that this masterpiece is set for a sweep at this year's Game Awards.

Long story short, Elden Ring is a pretty big deal that has become a best-seller on all platforms. As it secures its place in the history books, it sounds like Elden Ring could already be on the way back in a big way. If you missed out on the fantasy epic at launch, a new way to play might be on the way.

Is Elden Ring Coming To Microsoft?

A new leak has suggested that the arrival of Elden Ring, GTA V, and Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox's Cloud Gaming service is coming soon. In tandem, this comes with the presumption that they'll be landing on Game Pass.

Of course, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 have been on the service before, but this is a dramatic first for Elden Ring. If its arrival comes to be true, it would be a huge get for Game Pass.

The Xcloud subreddit has turned up the reveal that the titles are already appearing in their own links on the Xbox Cloud site. This suggests that they'll be coming to the service soon, confirming that the games can be played via the Cloud providing that players own the game. This indicates something much bigger.

Is An Elden Ring Game Pass Coming Next?

Games on Xbox have never typically joined the Cloud roster without being a part of Game Pass, so fans have naturally presumed that this means the gaming giant will be arriving on the service. Of course, there's every chance that this addition to Cloud Gaming is a potential new push for existing games, but working with the assumption that it isn't, it could mean that Elden Ring is finally making its way to Game Pass.

This is less of a massive win for Elden Ring itself and more of a massive win for Game Pass users. Elden Ring is the biggest new IP we've seen in years, and given its maddening popularity, it's going to be a colossus for consumers. If an Elden Ring DLC is on the way, it's even more incentive to stump up for Game Pass (if you haven't already). Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
