Hogwarts Legacy Sequels Seemingly Confirmed By Warner Bros Boss
School might be out for the summer, but don't be packing away your wands and broomsticks just yet - it looks like Hogwarts Legacy is getting a sequel. Better yet, the Wizarding World could expand even further with a franchise of sequels.
When footage of an open-world Harry Potter game hit the internet back in 2018, little did we know what was uncovered in the depths of Reddit. This tiny acorn grew into the Whomping Willow of Hogwarts Legacy, and while it's ridden a wave of controversy, it hasn't stopped the title from topping the charts.

Hogwarts Legacy Could Be Getting Multiple Sequels
Click to enlargeJust two weeks after launch, Hogwarts Legacy is pulling some ludicrous numbers. Speaking to Variety, Warner Bros. Games President David Haddad confirmed we've played over 152 million hours in just two weeks. WB then updated these numbers to a jaw-dropping 267 million hours.
If that wasn't impressive enough, those hours include defeating 1.25 billion Dark Wizards, brewing 242 million potions, and growing 393 million magical plants. Discussing the game's success, Haddad said, "We are very pleased with the initial launch and see a bright future for our other platform launches."
Although there's a bit of a wait, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases are on the way for April 4, while those on Nintendo Switch will have to twiddle their thumbs until July 25.
The important takeaway is a seemingly throwaway mention in the article that "Warner Bros. sees Hogwarts Legacy as a long-term franchise." If that doesn't scream sequel(s), nothing does.
Haddad hasn't directly addressed the idea of a Hogwarts Legacy sequel or sequels, but it hasn't gone unnoticed that we start in the year 1890 with the player being a Fifth Year. A trilogy of games would take us through to graduation AND tie into a certain Albus Dumbledore joining as a First Year in 1902.
Is Hogwarts Legacy Getting A DLC?
If footage of what would become Hogwarts Legacy leaked in a reasonable state back in 2018, it's safe to assume it was in the works long before that. Even if Avalanche Software started work on a sequel right now, we doubt we'd see a mythical Hogwarts Legacy 2 before 2030.
To fill in the gap, a DLC would give wannabe witches and wizards something to spend their Galleons on. With Headmaster Black having banned Quidditch this year due to an unfortunate accident, a Quidditch DLC is what most muggles are expecting.
Before you get excited and start wishlisting a Hogwarts Legacy DLC, Game Director Alan Tew recently confirmed there are no DLCs currently in the works. Still, given the massive launch, we'd be surprised if multiple Hogwarts Legacy DLCs aren't quickly put into production.
For the time being, we're pretty content hanging out with Deek in the Room of Requirement and enjoying Hogwarts Legacy as the open-world Harry Potter game we only dreamed of having when PS1 Hagrid was making his first steps.
