G2 Esports' long-awaited RLCS championship at the Winter Major in LA finally cemented their legacy within Rocket League. Storied veterans Jacob "JKnaps" Knapman and Reed "Chicago" Wilen have worn the badge of the Samurai on their hearts and sleeves for years, and with the addition of an Atomic bomb, they've finally had the arsenal to have international crowns placed upon their heads.

It's been a rebuilding project in the making for G2 Esports in recent months, who went from being perched on top of North America in Season 9 to executing little success in Season X. With the retirement of Dillon "Rizzo" Rizzo and teething issues with rising star Andres "dreaz" Jordan leading to a lack of consistency, G2 has had to rediscover their identity to become global stalwarts once again.

Massimo "Atomic" Franceschi's swap deal to G2 Esports has since been a revelation, allowing the roster notorious for their attack and fundamental excellence to be balanced out with a swift and precise defensive resilience. Now, for the first time in their RLCS careers, G2 Esports and the current roster are international champions and aim to go back-to-back in London at the Spring Major.

Ahead of the RLCS 2021-22 Spring Major in London, we sat down and spoke with the roster as they bootcamped in the Red Bull Gaming Sphere, discussing what makes this variant of G2 better than previous ones, why consistency is so hard at the elite level, life in London, and Atomic's persistent snoring.

G2 Esports kick off their RLCS Venture against Gaimin Gladiators - the first team to ever qualify for an international Rocket League boasting players from India, Singapore, and Indonesia - before potentially meeting FURIA or Karmine Corp.

You can also watch G2 Esports live from their watch party in London, hosted at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere between June 29 and July 1.
