Call Of Duty Fans Confused By Modern Warfare Rumours
If there's one thing that's guaranteed in life, it's that there is a brand new Call of Duty game released every year. Fans of the series get a yearly dose of new content, alongside updates and more for the existing games.
Call of Duty: Vanguard hasn’t even landed on shelves yet, but for some reason, players are already getting confused over the next (untitled) game in the series.
Why are people confused about Call of Duty 2022?
Call of Duty 2022’s title is sending players into a bit of a spin. Why? Because the latest rumours are that the game will be titled: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Before you say anything, you’re right - it IS the current name of a game that already exists in the CoD universe from 2009, so why would the rumours suggest that the name will be… the same?
According to industry insider Tom Henderson, Activision and Infinity Ward will reportedly be going ahead with the confusing title but they’re making it different by changing the 2 to Roman numerals. Henderson also claimed that he had seen the front cover of the upcoming Call of Duty game and that it was "f***ing amazing".
It’s important to note that the leaker did state he wasn’t confirming the game’s title, but that he had seen artwork with Modern Warfare II on it.
"Confirm was a wrong choice of wording here - I can confirm that I've seen artwork that ‘says 'Modern Warfare II' - But this does not necessarily confirm the title is 100% Modern Warfare II as names can change during development. I might sketch the image in the future though."
